CASCIANA TERME
The main village Casciana Terme has hot springs and a spa.
You can simply enjoy the outdoor naturally heated pool or you can use the spa for massages, thermal mud and face and body beauty care.
VOLTERRA
just a 45 minute drive from our house
Volterra, a nearby town, was a Neolithic settlement and an important Etruscan centre. It was known as Velathri or Felathri in Etruscan, Velàthre, Βελάθρη in Greek. The site is believed to have been continuously inhabited as a city since at least the end of the 8th century BC. It became a municipality in the Roman Age. The city was a bishop's residence in the 5th century, and its episcopal power was affirmed during the 12th century. With the decline of the episcopate, Volterra became a place of interest to the Florentines, whose forces conquered Volterra. Florentine rule was not always popular, and opposition occasionally broke into rebellion. These rebellions were put down by Florence and the city was destroyed and rebuilt many times.

The airport is located by the coast, 1 kilometre from Pisa Centre and only 80 kilometres from Florence, and has direct access to highways, motorways and railways

CAR RENTAL
The Car Rental Service
The car rental terminal is only 500 meters from the terminal building and is directly connected to the airport by a shuttle bus service. The shuttle bus stop is located just outside the Arrivals area. You can also reach the car rental terminal on foot. It is a 5 minute walk.
The car rental companies operating at Pisa Airport offer a fleet of more than 1.500 vehicles including cars, vans and minibuses. Even if you arrive on the last flight, you will always find at least one company waiting for you and ready to meet your needs. However, we recommend booking your car in advance
FLORENCE

Florence (Latin: Florentia) is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany. It is the most populous city in Tuscany, with about 380,000 inhabitants, expanding to over 1,520,000 in the metropolitan area.
Florence is famous for its history: a centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the wealthiest cities of the time, it is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance, and has been called "the Athens of the Middle Ages". A turbulent political history includes periods of rule by the powerful Medici family, and numerous religious and republican revolutions. From 1865 to 1871 the city was the capital of the recently established Kingdom of Italy.
The Historic Centre of Florence attracts millions of tourists each year, and Euromonitor International ranked the city as the world's 89th most visited in 2012, with 1.8 million visitors. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. The city is noted for its culture, Renaissance art and architecture and monuments. The city also contains numerous museums and art galleries, such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Pitti, and still exerts an influence in the fields of art, culture and politics. Due to Florence's artistic and architectural heritage, it has been ranked by Forbes as one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Florence is an important city in Italian fashion, being ranked in the top 50 fashion capitals of the world; furthermore, it is a major national economic centre, as a tourist and industrial hub.
LE CINQUE TERRE

The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. "The Five Lands" is comprised of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Over the centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible corporate development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach them from the outside. The Cinque Terre area is a very popular tourist destination.
SIENA

Siena (sometimes in English spelled Sienna) is an historic Tuscan city about an hour south of Florence. It retains a very medieval look and the city centre has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Siena is most famous for the Palio, a horse race held twice a year in the city's main square.
Siena is also famous for its cuisine, art, and museums.
SAN GIMIGNANO
just a 45 minute drive from our house
San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, just south of Florence. Known as the Town of Fine Towers, San Gimignano is famous for its medieval architecture, unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses, which, with its hilltop setting and encircling walls form "an unforgettable skyline". Within the walls, the well-preserved buildings include notable examples of both Romanesque and Gothic architecture, with outstanding examples of secular buildings as well as churches. The Palazzo Comunale, the Collegiate Church and Church of Sant' Agostino contain frescos, including cycles dating from the 14th and 15th centuries. The "Historic Centre of San Gimignano", is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town also is known for the white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone hillsides of the area.

PISA

Pisa lies on the right bank of the mouth of the River Arno on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Although Pisa is known worldwide for its leaning tower (the bell tower of the city's cathedral), it contains more than 20 other historic churches, several palaces and various bridges across the River Arno. Much of the city's grandeur originates from its history as one of the medieval Italian maritime republics.
